That's what I thought, then a couple weeks ago I leaned up against a White Oak and then saw one climbing up my arm, so they apparently climb trees as well. Could have gone from my pants or shirt to my arm I guess, but I don't think so...
Per met HR in is safe to humans and mammals. Its plant derived and synthetic dervitives as well. Originally came from a flower in the cersanthimum family
I'm sure there's exceptions, but I guess the warm body is the thing. And they generally are close to the ground. If a squirrel just ran up a tree and the tick got scratched off or whatever, it might just go for the next warm body... us coming by. I know that I'll never be 100% able to keep ticks off, but I've been pretty lax about it until this year. I'll still use DW Off because of the blackflies and skeeters too.
I have gotten into those masses of juvenile ticks...hundreds of them the size of pepper flakes!! It was in turkey season which means april in these parts
Just pulled a full one off Mrs loon First time i've seen one on a human and no pictures as it was waaay down on her lower back.
Did she have any bug dope on or? Curious as to whether the little SOB got by it. Good that you got it off.
We use spray on us for skeeters around the house but we did go over to the farm picking Lilocs and she figures thats where it mighta came from?
My bride freaks at the thought of either having one on her or having to take an engorged tick off me. Our lilacs are coming here too. It's the off year so not quite so many flowers.
Pulled one off the inside ear flap of our Dachshund yesterday. It was on long enough to attach. I just put June's Advantix 2 on all the dogs yesterday also. It's a few days early, but since they're now active, I figured it's time.
Shoot, I done pulled about 8 of me already. haven't checked the dog yet. need to put some tick killer on her.
Pulled another off Casper's front leg a little bit ago while it was still crawling on his hair. I guess the tick stuff doesn't get to their legs very quick.
