I had a couple of hours this morning to start work on the basefor the green house.
4x6 treated sitting on the caissons w/lap joints, 1/2" anchor bolts.

.....then "had" to go hoard some fire wood.
The place where I got all the old oak last fall listed his ad on CL again.
I was skeptical that anything had changed, but had to go see.
We managed to get another truck load.....but nothing new.
He wants some one to clean up all the little stuff he has laying around.
So, grateful for every BTU. Always have to check it out.....you just never know.

....so, stuff happens.....you know what I mean.
My ditch water run off pipe is blocked.
Had to stop to deal w/that. Did not get it fixed.
Need a longer snake or have to call roto rooter.
Had to put that on hold.

Got couple of hours to work on the green house.
Got the south wall set. Top plate connected to the
sill plate on the blocks and the west wall. Got all the
walls lagged to the 4x6s. Amazing the strength that it
    added to the walls.

...ok. I know you all must be wearing out your refresh buttons waiting
to find out about the plugged ditch line. Never saw this one coming.
Two summers ago, neighbor adjacent to me had her fence replaced. Well, they moved the
existing fence a foot to the east. Right on top of my overflow line in my next door
neighbors yard. My neighbor behind me had 75' of 1" poly line that we used
as a snake. Well, it hung up on the concrete in the line where my little sewer snake was
going right by. Once we knew where to dig, didn't take long before we struck water.
    IMG_7787.JPG
Once we exposed it, I just had to laugh. Half the pipe was filled w/concrete and
what was left was a root ball.
    IMG_7791.JPG

    IMG_7792.JPG
We think the final straw was the plactic bag that got in there, sealed it off.
We had to chip out a chunk of the concrete to make a straight
run for the new pipe. Busting up #5K psi concrete w/a hammer and chiesel is not ease.
    IMG_7795.JPG
But, we got it and all is well. .......execpt for the three other posts that we believe have
the same problem. Eventually we are going to have to replace the entire line.
So, for now, grass grows and water flows. Back to our regular schedule program.

....so, where was I..... The heavy framing is complete.
Ready for roof deck and sheating on the side. Once that is installed
it is going to be solid. I am so impressed w/using the Kreg pocket
screws to assemble things. On something like this, there is no way you
could get the tight joints by nailing it. It is amazing to watch a joint
pull together as you seat a screw. They are solid. I am ready to
pull the trigger on the polycarbonate glazing. Then there will be the windows
and door to build. I'm just having way too much fun now.

    Thanks! Thompson water seal. Natural.
Going to try and leave everything natural.
Anything that will be exposed inside w/get water seal.
Water sealed the beam before I put it together.
The window struts are rough cut cedar.
I hope to use cedar for the trim, also.

Moving along. I was concerned that this structure would be
sturdy. .....well....after the chip board is nailed....I have created
a structure that is every bit as sturdy as the popular brick facility.

Polycarbonate has left the factory and is en route.
Because of the fan, I don't think I am going to make the windows open.
Don't think they will need to open when the air is being replaced every min of so.
If I need to, can always revisit that.

I like that you are using a solar powered fan.
