Never seen that before….May have to try that myself some time. Less and less a fan of stacking!

It’s definitely doable. Those side pallets are very lightweight flimsy things. Too lite to stack on but they’re taking the pressure so far. Time will tell more.
The conveyor is nice but in reality anyone could do it if your chuckin arm is still good. I used to toss them almost that high on the dump truck just to stack em later. Just build as go.

Pallet hunting. All in the fun Joe, all in the fun. Too bad about the other source, but cant blame him. Doesnt have to be pretty, just functional...speaking of which. Years back i got a mahogany pallet at the lumberyard. Made a nice adirondack chair for the then current GF out of it.

Early to mid 90’s mahogany was almost as cheap as pressure treated. Everyone was building decks out of it. A pallet tho LOL. Dang that must’ve been nice. I took home lots of mahogany scraps from the jobs. Made a lot of picture frames for the family.
Pallet hunting is fun? You’ll get a kick out of my unpreparedness. After leaving the third no pallets to be found spot I see a nice Black Locust tree laying ina grassy area of the industrial park. No saw, no equipment, nothing. Truck bed cleaned out for extra pallet room.
Bout 6 miles away I see a nice freshly cut red oak trunk laying in the ditch. 1/4 mile past that another red oak tree laying on the side of the road.
All you can do is laugh :)

I built mine out of it circa 2000-01. All blind attached with no fasteners visible. Mortise and tenoned the red cedar post and rails. Sold my house in 2009.

The mahogany pallet stuck out like a sore thumb and wasnt banged up. Probably made from mill scraps. One of the rare times i followed through with an idea.

Dang, Jo. Sure wish you were closer.
Our paper bags come in on these T8 pallets. 0903221354.jpg They are 48"×48" and don't fit any of our stacking patterns, so they are discarded. They also come with a 1/2 sheet of OSB or plywood on top of the bags. 0903221354a.jpg
This area is usually full of various size pallets. Recycle truck must have came by lately. Far left stack is all T8's 0903221356.jpg
Then our semi-bulk bags come in on plastic pallets. Quite a few get busted up with the forklifts, but good ones can be found. 0903221358_HDR.jpg

Dang you’re living in pallet heaven down there. I’ve had a few busted plastic ones. They still work for the ground. I just stuff a little chunk of ugly under the broken section and it’s all good :)

Did a little cleaning around the area this morning. Just a little. Still need to plow all the splitter chaff into the low areas in preparation for the next pen.
Threw up the front post. Welded up a wheelbarrow rim and strung the ridge line. All temporary and adjustable once the tarp goes on. The cement chimney block lower right in photo will be the counterweight allowing the rope to sag under snow loads or possibly high winds. Last time I did this 30 years ago I needed that block and another nice size rock in the middle. Still have that rock LOL. See it doesn’t pay to clean up too well.

if you’re wondering, the post is plumb or pretty darn close to it. It’s the world that’s slanted.
Also drilled a rebar into the bottom of the posts to solidify them into the ground a bit.

Wow, no saws or tools in the truck .....dont say that too loudly around here!
I missed what town that BL log was in.....

Either way, good score on pallets.
In Manchester Lowes and HD said they sell their pallets back (core-charge) to the vendor and save money. TSC said the same thing, I know and trust the manager there.
Behind Hobby Lobby there is a gamer store, they had some I gladly scuffed up. I need a few more, never thought of FB though. Garden Barn in vernon puts out pallets by the stack, but they're gone within a couple hours. Theres a place on 83, near Cumby's, sometime they have good ones, most of the time they're made of glued together sawdust wood...
I go through here a bit to work.
