Wifey had a hankering for some good smoky kabobs, so I cranked up some red oak in the keyhole right after work and by 5 it was ready to cook on..... Kabobs ready to cook, sitting next to the hickory slivers...... Ready to go..... That hickory was just cut and split a few weeks back, it sure burns yiur eyes when it's smoldering but man does it ever give a nice spicy flavor to the food!! Served over a bed of rice pilaf.....they were fantastic!!! The Overkill Grille is back in service!!
Delish looking Scotty Overkill! We're due a new firepit, think I'll be looking at building a keyhole!!!
If you look close in those pics you'll see an "all steak" kabob......my oldest son (who's autistic) don't like the veggies and 'shrooms......so he gets more steak! Lemme tell ya all three of my kids love firepit food just like my wife and I!!
See what you gone and made me do Scotty Overkill . The mrs has a friend coming over for dinner so I thought I'd fire the pit up. Lettin some oak burn down to coals then I've got two steaks and some sweet sausage goin on the pit..
Big end for bonfires. Pull hot coals into the smaller squared section to cook over. cooking racks will fit better on the square end
