The weather here in S.E. Kansas has been to warm for the wood furnace. But it is ready to light off!

Four small fires this month. We haven't used the furnace since February 2011 because it's an old 50/50 unit that sucks down a ludicrous amount of propane, only to still heat the house insufficiently.

Don't know how many fires we've had but more than I've seen in the above posts. I'll be lighting another one yet this evening. Although it is warm right now the temperature is dropping and the wind is cold.

The next 2 days forecast is for a high of 50 and windy. This is followed with high of 40 and 39. Snow predicted for Friday and Friday night. You can bet the stove will be giving heat pretty steady for the next week around here. It's okay. We have plenty.

5-6 fires so far, two overnight oak loads. Earlier than usual for me, I'll be firing up again tomorrow and the weekend is forecasted for 34/55.
Plenty of wood to burn - so no worries here

Half dozen fires at least, maybe more. Not all nights was it absolutely necessary. Burning plenty of softwood slab wood so for. Plenty of that stuff so no worries here.

I ve had maybe half a dozen fires, none since I think last Thursday. She will be getting used soon if the weather man is correct. 50's day and 30's night after tomorrow. Saturday says 39º high and 23º low, not much better on Sunday. Bring it.....I might cut a load on Saturday.

Yeah, this weekend might be time to fire up the wood boiler. Been itching' too. We amazingly have not had a killing frost yet, close but the Brussel Sprouts and flowers in the garden show no sign… yet.

Wood costs very little once I figure my fuel in so I use it as much as possible. Even down here in SC I have had a half a dozen days with fire. Mid 60s in the house is too cold!!

My first was around the beginning of the month, since I heat solely with wood I have to keep the chill off by having a small fire twice a day. It's not cold here, yet. It's been in the low 50's daytime and low 40's at night, so just an hour or so of burning morning and night and I can keep it around 70 in the house. But, yep, first fire was a couple weeks ago and I'll probably be burning twice a day from now until spring.
