Congratulations on the stove man, nice setup you have there.
Just wondering did you see smoke or just smell it?

We saw smoke. But I'm really thinking that why we saw wasn't smoke from the wood. I think it was the smoke from the paint curing on the stove itself. It didn't smell like wood smoke. It smelled like the paint was curing.

Probly a mixture of little draft smoke and oil smoke.. sometimes manufacturers use a light oil to prevent rusting while they sit on shelves awaiting a new hearth to sit in.
Check chimney. Did yu or someone else sweep it.. really like the setup btw.

The stove pipe was installed with the stove itself. It's all a brand new setup. And it was installed by professionals. After Church today, I'm gonna fire it up again and see what she does. I will keep you posted.

I do love a crisp fall weekend. Don't gotta work for Mr tucker.. just feed a fire drink coffee suck up the leaves and build something later on.. love it.

Beautiful setup, enjoy that Buck Stove, I sure like mine. Starting the 3rd year with our Buck 91. As far as the smell I'd guess paint cure as well. I did about some small fires and kept buiding up to larger ones as most recommend.........Enjoy the heat man

Thanks I just lit my second small fire in mine and so far it's not been nearly as bad. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

Nice looking set up! I really like the river rock look. Im sure you and the family will spend lots of time around the fire. You will probably have that smell with each new high temperature you get and then it will just fade away as you become good buddies.

Well it's been 7 hours on my second fire and so far no smoke in the house like yesterday. Still had some paint smell but that's to be expected. It's a little bit bigger of a fire today. I'm slowly building the fires a little hotter each time to properly "burn the stove in" as they say. House is up to 77 and now it's time to back it down a little and let the house regulate. Learning to properly regulate air flow is kinda like a science experiment. I wished I'd paid more attention in high school.

Thank you. We really loved the river rock. We live about 20 minutes from the Great Smokey Mountains and the Little River runs through the mountains. There is a lot of people around here actually use river rock for their foundations and fireplaces both inside and out.
