This is different weather KaptJaq. Unpredictable I guess. You folks are that much warmer than usual this time of year and since Thanksgiving. We on the other hand have had some of the coldest days for the same period that we have had here in a looooong time. It has been mild here from before Thanksgiving through Christmas, up and down over the years but the temps have generally been mild. This year we had some real cold days, then back up to normal milder ones, then right down to down right nasty cold with wind that would make you wish you were inside by the fire! I'm not complaining, I like the seasons and have plenty of dry wood. :fire:

Kinda of nice to take a break from the heavy wood consumption. I think we need lifeboats after last night's down pour.

Hang tight up there in Maine! Woke up this morning to 63 F nearly all the snow melted overnight, creeks and streams are running with fury and heavy rain expected some today and lot tomorrow followed by freezing temps overnight. Just walking to the woodshed is a muddy experience.

Trees icing some here now, it's about 32 degrees so iffy out and I'm staying in....I don't need a slip and fall either...I have close to 3 weeks of wood on the covered entry way for these situations...:)

Hate seeing anyone having to deal with icing! Hope you are all settled in and can just relax and ride out the weather... Like a summer day here... Opened the door to the chicken coop this morning and everyone stepped out and just stopped and pondered about the warmth...... even the chickens looked shocked at how warm it was.. Said 60 on the outside thermometer this morning.... by Tuesday night 9 degrees... I often wonder how this big temperature swing effects my bees.... Stay safe!

Ya, it was 35 when I went to work this morning and it was 60 2 hours later when I was done! I opened up the garage doors to bring in the warm air.

I may light back up around 10 or just burn a little gas until tomorrow evening. Still very warm here and not really supposed to cool down much till the middle of the night.

Stove is cold, t-shirt weather here today. Got up to 65 , mid 50's tonight and not going back to normal until tomorrow night. It is so humid I was tempted to start a fire and run the AC against it to dry the place out. I feel for you guys with the ice, this weather is wacky in the opposite extreme.

Plowed the driveway at 4" , still snowing, over an inch since I plowed.
    27°, winds 15, snowing.

But we gained 9 seconds of daylight :) :)

Did clean the cat up and took some ashes out. Ready whenever winter starts again. Going to burn a little gas if needed until tomorrow evening now. It's still 53 outside and the house is at 74 because the wife was baking more cookies. More daylight is fine by my Bogy.
I really hope we get a good solid freeze for about 2 weeks so I can start dragging some wood out. Lots of oak, beech, ash and maple that has to get processed this year or some of it is going to go bad.

67 here the other day... Took the cat out of the PH, amazingly still didn't even need to be cleaned...but gave it a quick tap and cleaning with a soft paint brush anyways..
