I started the first fire this weekend. We are burning evening and nights only, but that is going to change soon. High temps in the 40s later this week.

    32° here now.
Made fire in the stove last night.
    Time to add wood.
    Winter is getting close.

My first burn will be tonight. I brought up a load of 2 yr covered ash, hickory, and oak to stuff the "Bilco wood box" so the creepy critters stay "outside" all season long. Using my "new" 1975 restored/rebuilt Ford 3400 backhoe (dropped the hoe for the winter and added a swinging draw bar) to pull the 5x10' heaped load. Piece of cake!

We too have been burning off and on for a while. Got our first snow today. Should be in the 20's tonight. The picture below was taken this afternoon. Wife is making applesauce and cooking it on the Fireview. I actually posted this picture to show the wood rack on the porch. It was full not too long ago. Still, what is left out there will keep us warm for quite some time yet.
