I was starting to think he wouldn't make it, but he just left. This load is Maple.......green, fresh cut. This will be '17-'18 wood, so it's all gooder. Looks like an actual 2/3 cord, but I'll know better once it's ss. Just saved myself 8-10 hours in the woods. Next load, he's going to bring Beech, Ash, and maybe some Ironwood. May not be for about 2 weeks, but I'm liking this so far. Wife has the phone, so no pics. I'll do that tomorrow. bogydave , don't yell at me.
I , but since you asked so nice Next load sounds like a good selection. Zap, thewoodlands, says beech is real good stuff!
Whew, thanks Dave. Pressure's off now. He cuts on his own 5 acres and his brother's property too. Better selection than I have access to. I'm trying to stay away from any Oak unless it' dead, and get wood that's quicker to dry, yet still burns similar to Oak. I've heard Beech is gooder, and we've all heard the stories about Ash. I'm curious about the Ironwood too. It's almost light enough outside to get a pic, so I'll take the dogs out again and take a pic or 2 in a while.
Most of this is at least 16", like he said, and some are longer with a very few a little shorter. I'm happier with these rounds than I was with the last guy's stuff. I didn't bother asking for another discount, but I might next load. Nothing around here (other than the guy my brother uses) can be had for less than about $65-70, so 50 isn't bad. That's what I paid when we first moved here in '06. It's raining again, and at least the next couple days are busy, so not sure when I can start on this. I think I've convinced myself to stack any new stuff in the path to the field.
Oh, yeah , nice rounds at 50 is a good price , saves a lot of work, cuttin it down, cuttin it up, loading ,unloading
