Lots of great posts. Firewood cutting and reloading ammo are 2 of my hobbies. I don't even burn wood, but manage to cut quite a bit helping my brother. Both hobbies don't make sense just to save money-it would be better to get another job and buy ammo, oil, gas, etc. My work schedule and house construction doesn't allow me to burn wood, but I simply like working with wood. My brother and I cut 9 UTV loads yesterday from some tops my neighbor had- he told us to cut them as he wasn't going to able to, and they had set for 2 years. 7 of the loads went to my brother's shed for his OWB (tops were ash) and 2 went to another neighbor to help him. Oh, and our buddy the mechanic stopped by to show us his new MS 462. We threw a load into his pick up as long as he was there, no use going home empty!!
i am 2 years ahead and no matter what happens to the price of gas, propane, or oil, i have cheap heat for the next two years. thats peace of mind right there.
