Firewood tractors

I can imagine how fast that is to operate saving the trips up and down from a tractor. 1000# is better than my Kubota!

 

I’m getting old, not sure I want to stand on that all day!

I just found this forum and it seems I will fit in as a firewood hoarder/ scrounger to feed my outdoor furnace. I was surprised to find a section dedicated to the work horses we use to move our plunder. Growing up in a scotch and Irish family as you would expect I love Germam machines the saw in my avatar is a late 70’s 045 made in West Germany as is my tractor.

Thanks she needs a bit of work and in the beginning I thought that I made a mistake in my purchase without 4x4 and no front loader but with a set of tire chains it turned out to be a great little tractor in the woods no loader makes her much shorter and more maneuverable in tight spots I do need to add a bit of weight to the front. I do have a D8006 in repair now but even if it was running it would only go to the woods occasionally when I have really big trees to move just to big for most places.

By far my favourite thread, thanks everybody. Here’s my British Leyland, a local farmer convinced me to buy one here in Canada. He said that they’re made in England and nobody wants them, LOL! I’m British so to me it feels like a piece of home to me. It’s been faultless so far, it’s getting pulled in the shop this winter for some new lights, clutch, chainsaw holders, and some other mods.

 

Son of a Woodcutter , is that a chimney cap on top of your chimney extension? Nice looking set up. And yes, your tractor would be an orphan in our neck of the woods.
