I have about a third of a mile dirt road that I maintain and that scraper works great. It is made to take out the wash board and that is what I use it for. It also has some rippers on it too and will sometimes use those to break out the large rocks on the road. I have used it enouph now on the road that most of the rocks have been eliminated and now all I do is a quick scrape. I used it today. It is 6 foot wide which is enouph to cover my tracks.
The grading scrapers get great reviews on the tractor forums. I've been wanting to build one for a couple of year I have just never got around to it.
That's awesome Pete! Looks a lot like my wheelhorse pulling my Arians splitter. I like those DHT splitters, how do you like that one? Looks like you need to add the cradles to it!
Its a good splitter after a few kinks where worked out. Starts easy pulls great behind my tractor and splits everything I throw at it. I use a splitting table for now but im welding a solid steel catch table to it this winter in the down time. We dont split in the winter so that timing works very well...
Cow magnet in the tank???? I'd attach a small chain or cable to it so you could fetch it periodically.
Just got this guy to help out with wood moving/snow removal and mowing I have a set of Titan 42" QA pallet forks coming tomorrow. I'll be designing/experimenting with some stand alone firewood frames this winter to simplify my wood processing and moving.
Nice machine. I had that same unit a few years back. I was amazed at the amount of wood/snow/dirt etc I moved with that little tractor..... watch out for soft groudn though. Congrats
Thanks woodsnwoods! It's a huge step up from my old 445 with the 40 series loader. I can't wait to start pushing some snow and move some firewood around with the 4wd!
What are they rating the SCUT loaders at now for lift? They used to be 500lbs and they would do quite a bit more than that of you didn't need to lift more than 2-3 ft. You can lift a helluva lot more farwood with a set of rear forks.
Mine is rated at around 1100lbs breakout force and I think between 800-900lbs full lift capacity. The rear forks are nice but a like the ability to lift things in and out of my truck bed or on and off the porch if I want to
Breakout is just the force the bucket curl function. 8-900 on the pin (I'm assuming that spec is measured on the bucket pivot pin as is typical for marketing purposes. ) is great for a tractor that size. Keep in mind when you build your frames that the lift capacity will be reduced significantly as the load center moves away from the pivot pin. Just an edjumakated guess but I'd think it would do fine lifting a single stack, 48"x36"x16".
Yea I'm thinking pretty close to what you are. My best guesstimates are that a 48"long x 48" tall x 18" wide should weigh around 500lbs. If it's wet wood (like just cut down live) it could weigh as much as 900lbs though. I think it will work either way bc it will never need lifted more than a few inches off the ground to move it around until it's dry and ready to be moved onto the porch.
