Smart thieves don't come back to a place they've already hit for a month or three, to give the owner a chance to slacken off his security.

The "camo" lockbox leaves a bit to be desired. Humans are a wary prey.

Heating season is over now. Will be moving the remaining splits soon. I am gonna make more in the same spot though. What's left on the pile is pretty well seasoned, needs stacked & covered.

I have decided that no offer of restitution will be made or accepted. If I get someone on camera, they will be prosecuted. 'It's not about the money....it's about sending a message.' Actually three messages: If you're caught trespassing, the Law will be involved. This property is under surveillance. The owner is an azzhole.

Man i hate to hear someone's hard work get stolen. Like you guys, I've sacrificed allot to get what i have and i enjoy the benefits of that hard work and sacrifice. But some people are just jealous, self entitled, and lazy. I get so tired of other people being jealous of what others have when they don't know how much work and sacrifice went into obtaining whatever it is they're butt hurt about not having. I bust my azz ALL THE TIME and when someone who doesn't know me makes a snide remark about what I have it takes everything in me to not want to knock their teeth out . I don't see or hear anyone offering to help me, I'm sure most of you are the same way.

This last weekend was GORGEOUS here! While the have nots were sitting around inside their house complaining about their situation I was: cutting a TON of black locust and ash...that I had to pull from the top of the hill, cleaning off this giant rock at my parents house so i can make a decorative garden around it for them, replacing leaky valve cover gaskets, mowing my lawn and my parents lawn, and somewhere in between i got some sleep . I would love to have a weekend of "fun"... I cant remember the last time i had fun that wasn't firewood related. So I feel for you having that time you spent working your azz off stolen when you probably had other things you could have done with your time .

RCBS I thought of you yesterday when I was at Wally World- I was grabbing a packet of metal cutting discs for the Dremel and a couple fuses, and this sketchy looking woman shuffles her way down the aisle. She stopped behind me and talked to herself, “yes! That’s what I’m talkin’ about. Finally found you!” I turned around and said “what?” And she pointed at all the combo locks, and said it was for her closet. “You lock your closet?” says I. “I live with people, and they’re going in my room and taking my clothes,” says she...and smiled a big, rotting meth-mouth.
I thought about telling her to booby trap it, but thought better of it. Didn’t want to put ideas in a crazy drug addict’s head. By the way, not comparing you to a meth head, more the “lock up my stuff” angle.
I hope you end up getting some good images of the wood thief. I like the idea of a strategically placed pile in perfect view of the cameras.

Ahhhh yes...the Walmart meth heads...whats with these people? I can't understand for the life of me how the hell people get on drugs. Seriously. Think about your daily life. Where in whatever your day consists of do you ever think to yourself "I'll just crush up some pills and snort them" or "that dude has had that bag of weed/meth/crack/whatever tucked under his sweaty nuts all day, I think I'd like to try that".

I see more and more of this all the time. And these cowards don't come in the middle of the night anymore around here...they come during the day when you're at work.

Speaking of which...this was lying by our shop door this morning. It was tossed over a 10' chain link fence. Luckily, our guard dogs did not start chewing it. We're located 'downtown'. Find these every couple months. Sad. Never would've thought I'd see it in my community if you asked me 15 years ago.

The material loss is secondary - It's the violation that burns your back side and knowing anything you do out side of more less socially acceptable norms will get you in trouble. ( and that is the part that really fries ya)

Unbelievable. It's hard to believe how intrusive these people are. Not only are they a drain on society but they have to litter your place with their crap.

I don't know if this is the right thread to vent in or not about this stuff and I don't want to derail it...but you seem pizzed about it too and open to discussion.

Why is it that guys like all of us, who bust our butts, work hard, always do the right thing, lead purposeful lives and make an honest living have no value placed on us from society in general. But the drug addicts, thieves, vandals, etc are offered multiple programs for support, compassion from much of society, and one opportunity after another to better themselves and the rest of us who have to deal with their BS are so easily forgotten. I'm an introvert by nature and hate attention, but why do those "members" of society get so much attention, so many resources, and so much forgiveness?

I go out of my way to be polite and not cause trouble for people out of general respect for my fellow man & women. I take nothing and nobody for granted and don't try to 'get over' on people. 'In kind' is all I expect in return.

I like the old adage....Don't mistake kindness for weakness. I will either be nice, or leave you be. If you cross me or take advantage of me, you will deal with the most stubborn, fiendish, vindictive, and petty man you have ever met.

I know this isn't an ideal way to be in life, but it's how I am built & wired.

    Very well then...

So along the lines of entitlement, attitude is related, and most of these people have bad attitudes.

Has anyone ever noticed how demanding these people are? Nevermind the fact that these people don't work or are ever in a position to provide a service to a customer. But when they're the customer, they're extremely demanding and rude.

For example, I'm at Sonic one evening with my car and a friend of mine and we're hanging out, complaining about work, complaining about bad drivers, and complaining about politicians. It isn't as negative as it sounds, complaining about those things is kind of a secret hobby we like. Anyway. Some fine automobile rolls in, handicapped permit in place, nobody coming out of the car is disabled, there's already some drama between them, pregnant chick is smoking, and on and on. It went from being quiet and peaceful to loud and obnoxious as if everyone wants to hear their BS. You all have seen the type.

So they order no fewer than 20 items on the menu and are giving the person taking their order, who is this chick with a HOT voice by the way, crap because she couldn't understand a couple of things they said. When she would say "excuse me" they would yell it louder with attitude like "did you get THAT" and "my GAWD!" and then look around to see if anyone was looking at them in agreement as if we all were admiring them while their other members supported each other with remarks of their own.

Their order comes out. Of course one thing is not how they ordered. So they begin throwing a fit and get livid on the speaker as if someone intentionally did something bad against them. It was unbelievable how much time and attention was given to people who, in my opinion, are not worthy of such kindness being they are incapable of providing any themselves.

So we're on the subjects of work, politics, etc...so what do we do? The two quiet guys that we are bring up addicts, and entitlements, and worthless people in general in the high hopes they would actually say something to one of us. Nothing happened and they shut up.

I know you all have seen this at some point. I'm pretty sure everyone on here is a "nice person". I don't lose my temper or make a scene because someone made a mistake or didn't get my order right. I'll politely tell them if I need it fixed. I don't enjoy trying to intimidate someone because I'm in a position over them as the customer. I'm a surprisingly nice guy. But these people have no authority or level of responsibility or professionalism in their lives. So they exploit the little power they do have the moment they're dealing with someone who has to put up with them and are just trying to do their job and deal with aholes all day. I have never seen customer service abused to the point I have with these low lifes...and I've worked in customer service growing up at grocery stores, Sears, etc.... I can tell lots of stories...the good ones are the known thieves that steal tools and want to return them to Sears without a receipt or phone number and get pizzy when you won't do it. Thankfully I don't have to put up with the general public anymore.

Bingo. I got a free hat one day at a gunshop that had 1+ hour waits to get service at the counter. I too have worked with the public (10 years behind a sales counter). There were quite a few complainers and moaners. When my turn was up, I apologized to the clerk up front about my being particular about purchasing a firearm.(I usually ask to handle at least two examples of the gun I am intending to buy to look for flaws and compare triggers/finish/crown/etc) Informed him I was intending to buy and let him know that I had felt the pain of working behind a counter. He looked very relieved that he had called my number and was very helpful with the whole process. When we finished up the paperwork, he brought out the pistol in the box and was carrying a hat with the shop's logo on the front. "Thank You very much, Sir and have a great afternoon!" I have bought several firearms there, most much more expensive but never before had I gotten a free hat.

A little courtesy and understanding can go a long ways in such situations. I have been on both sides of it. I do tend to expect a high level of service when dealing with CS, because that is what I gave to my customers when I was the one standing behind the counter. Did not matter if it was a $2 sale, or $2k, did my best to get them taken care of. My Company's moto: We know what service is, we give it.

Who the hell is dumb enough to insult someone preparing their meal?????

    Language warning, but very funny....

Edit: Are you and your buddy the ones on the Sonic commercials, Mopar????

    mmmmmmm....tots.
