Isn't it funny that people get mad at your prices? It is not like you put a gun to their head. It is worth what someone will pay for it. It is just that simple. They can get their own darn wood instead of whining on facebook.

I frequently receive snarky replies on CL about gouging and ripping people off. Last one two days ago. I don’t engage with them or try to school them on my expenses and how I could make more per hour working at Walmart without using 80k of my personal equipment. After this year I should have enough repeat customers that advertising won’t be necessary. That will make selling firewood more enjoyable.

I hate Facebook more and more…the other move is they will ask you 21 questions and then you never hear from them again..im thinking of just taking down my listings and just get sales thru word of mouth

Most people couldn't comprehend the amount of work involved in making a cord of firewood.

I’m thinking about loading up my firewood and heading to Nashville area… I could then return and buy a train car load of propane that would last me 20 years….

I just don’t have a place to store 30,000 gallons of propane . :picard:

Love your sense of humor! However, stay out of territory! I heat my rural house with propane and burn white oak in my portable fire devise on the back patio. Selling four face cords pays for my Winter heating bill. Labor Day will be my 1 year anniversary of cutting firewood on two neighbors properties after their logging operations. Today was my 195th truck load of about 1&1/2 cords per load. Never thought my part time job would turn into 60 hour weeks, but it is paying off. I probably consume 4,000 calories of food a day and can't keep any weight on.

Lot of wood left in those tops eh? That’s a respectable amount of firewood you’ve hauled out! How long has it taken you to get that much wood out of the woods? We’d all love to see some pics of your operation. Processing it in the woods or back at your place? Keep up the good work:axe:Prices like you’re getting are a good incentive to keep it up:yes:

An unbelievable about of wood is left behind after logging. I usually get the last eight feet of the trunk and all the limbs. Anything wrong with the trunk and it is left behind also. Some of the limbs can be 12-14" in diameter, but I cut all the way down to wrist size which I supply to my father for burning. Very hilly here in middle TN, so a lot of great stuff I just can't cut and haul out from deep gullies and ravines. Today (Labor Day) was my 1 year anniversary of cutting logging leftovers. Total of 195 loads of about 1/2 a cord per. All red & white oak with some hickory. At $260-$265 a face cord, it is serious bucks. I cut everyday this summer as long as the muddy logging roads didn't keep me home. https://youtu.be/QE9oNaOWhLk This is my woodyard as of today.

That represents a lot of work! Well done and we’ll organized setup you have there. May be worth investing in a winch to drag some of the harder to reach logs if you get done with everything you can get to and the hard to reach isn’t too rotten.

I did not. I appreciate the lead, but Madison is a half hour one way from me. FBM/CL i keep to North Haven, North Branford and Wallingford area unless its an exotic. Been working out well the last few months. Sure beats roadside scores. I have contacted 2-3 FBMer's in your area to get wood for my Haddam location including that one i sent to you. Work a bit busier and dont know how soon id be able to cut any anyhow. We didnt go there this weekend only to the Haddam Neck fair. Id be lucky to get one load from your area this month. Still wanna run a few saws at your place cutting up some wood.

How did you attach handles and what did you use? Any pics?
