Firewood on ice

    I keep a few buckets of sand around for the ice took a bad spill last year tore the arm up elbow twisted and popped on the way down.Couldn't use my arm for nothin for 2 months ached for half a year didn't go to a doctor.Got lucky didn't brake anything just tore ligaments I figured.

    Ditto on the sand. We have several 5 gallon buckets of sand. So far though we haven't had to use much this year but February/March are usually the worst times for ice. We are prepared.

    Those rounds are cut 26" for my wood boiler (gasser). It seems to like the bigger pieces with less surface area than a bunch of smaller splits.

    Looks like that whole area will be under about 20" of snow tomorrow!:D
