Sweet! He must charge a grand a cord to make it feasible with the loader expense realistically included I'm with Backwoods Savage on this one!
It would be ironic if he sold it like the "Artisan" wood we've seen here in the past. (here as in FHC)
Maybe he is just pre-loading his wood with BTUs. Fortified Forest Fiber Fire Wood would be worth more to many!
This setup would seem to work decent as a finishing step. If the split wood has been sitting outside in the IBC totes for 6+ months, this "kiln" could get it into the primo burn zone in a hurry. If they are felling live trees, splitting immediately and putting them in the kiln shed it would need to be in there for many days or even weeks.
Admiring the cheap and simple setup. And hey if it cuts down on moisture content and shaves time off being fully seasoned ready to burn wood especially oak, he could be onto something for sure! Especially if selling it.
The requirements I’m finding for the “USDA certified” can be difficult to understand and achieve. having the documentation that the kiln provides the temps at the time required and then recorded etc… you know… typical .gov red tape. purely for removing jurisdictional movement restrictions due to invasive bugs.
