I'd like to try some Sitka or Black Spruce from Alaska or other way north area. I'm really curious how it compares to ours. I've burned Osage, Locust, Ironwood etc. Osage and Locust are neck and neck imo. Beech and Hard Maple are my preferred due to shorter seasoning times. Currently sitting on about 35 cord of Oaks and 15 of Ash. Sassafras tea is made from the root and usually made from tiny saplings I think. That's the way granny did it anyway.
