Ok, made all the changes to open it up for the whole world but it will have to wait until I get home from work to upload the package and submit again. That will be around 9Pm Greenwich time.

 

Is it channel guide like you know a lot about roku or TV channels or like the English channel?

 

Just make some great videos and I will be happy!

FYI... the private channel, ACCESS CODE: fire produces the same result at this present time.

Essentially, if you try using it with a UK Roku Account, you get a message saying, "We're sorry. This channel is not available in your region."

However if you've made changes to the private version, as well as the public one in the Roku Channel Store, that could change by this time next week.

Generally speaking, it takes a few days for Roku to approve the change(s) before it gets a final release so I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the warm welcome 'Pallet Pete', although it probably goes without saying that you'll get a "warm" welcome on a forum about firewood... LOL !!

 

Same goes to you, 'Dexter Day'... I appreciate the kind words and I'm looking forward to checking out the Roku channel. Hopefully there'll be some more interested parties from the UK and elsewhere around the world who can join in and submit some videos of their own for everyone to enjoy ?!!

I'll be sure to let you all know once the channel appears in the Roku UK Channel Store which, all being well, should be next week sometime !!

That's a good question 'clemsonfor'... I guess I could lay claim to all three although, when I originally came up with the moniker, it was for a blog I do about the various Roku channels available on UK Roku players since there was no information available for UK Roku owners at that time. So, for want of anything better, that's what I came up with... since it kind of described what I was doing... then it sorta stuck, and there you have it !!

This may be slightly redundant, given my previous post(s) on the subject, but...

FYI... the public channel, ACCESS CODE: firewood (currently) gives the same result as for the private version, producing an identical message when attempting to add it to a UK Roku Account. However, like I said before, that's to be expected given that the changes were only implemented today.

@ 'Jack the Knife' - Did you let someone at Roku know about the change(s) when you submitted the new version(s)? Don't worry too much if you weren't able to make contact with them, it's just that it might speed things along !!

Anyway, until the channel gets added to my UK Roku player(s), I can't say much more for now.

Guess I'll just wait for it to appear and let you all know when it does. That said, if it's not in there by this time next week (i.e. Friday 10th Jan '14) I'll alert you to that, as well, so you can (maybe) chase it up from your end.

Go ahead and try the private channel one more time, I think I've cracked this nut.

 

Just remember, we are a new channel and we haven't really produced much for the Roku channel, and what has been were more test runs than anything. The best is yet to come! I have a couple projects in the works that should be my best work so far. Non cooking stuff even (cooking was easy to film and test out equipment and techniques. I cook on the stove every meal this time of year).

 

Absolutely, that would be great. I also want to cover it in the February or march what you should be doing now video, if you don't mind I would love to borrow a little of that footage.
