Firewood Dichotomy

    When I used a 2 way wedge the pieces are defiantly random based on size and knots. Now that I use a 6 way knife its way more consistent. When selling I ask what size they prefer, size of stove, brand and model. What's the use, heating or recreational. Biggest thing I have found is people really don't know what they prefer. I find they ask for larger splits than what they want.

    I had a few monster dead standing elm pieces this year where 1 piece basically filled the fire box. I was a little worried theyd smother the coals but they all burnt good.

    I have been providing firewood for my brother for 2 years. He told me what he wanted and that’s what I gave him. His stove was too small for most of it. I had him take a tape measure and check his dimensions and he said “I guess this stove is smaller than I thought”.
