I would much rather have a Husky 545. Slightly smaller CC wise and ~$100 more but much more saw.

I just did some checking and the 455 is 2 pounds heavier than the 445 and only .15HP more than the 445.

Less Weight seems to be directly proportional to $$
Less weight per cc & bhp , light weight metals cost more.

    The 445 should be a 2.8 HP saw and a 455 should be a 3.5 HP saw.

It's the same saw as a Husqvarna 455 Rancher. Good homeowner saws but you can do better for the money and the weight.

Well, I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow morning. As of now I'm set on getting the 291 with a 18" bar.
Only question is with having the 371 could I go with a 16" bar for the 291.

16", 18", pick your poison. 2" of bar isn't going to make or break you as far as the saw's capability is concerned. If you are happy with how the 18" feels/handles on that saw, there is no downside IMO.

Since you'll have the 371, seriously look into the 545. Especially if you are going to run a 16" or 18" bar. No sense in have to run to the whisky dealer and then the steal dealer to get parts or chains if they are specific. I run a 372 with a 20" or 24" bar and a 550xp with a 16" (which is the same saw as the 545). You will be thoroughly impressed with the 545. It is really a pro saw with the homeowner price, where as the 291 is more of homeowner saw. Both are good saws, but as heavy as the 291 is, you will find yourself running the 371 most of the time as they are almost identical in real world weight. I'm not bashing Stihl, by any means. I have quite a few and love them, but the 291 is like a cavalier and the 545 is like the camaro... they both will get the job done, but one is more nimble and fun. The other just gets you to work. 16" vs 18" is personal preference. I like shorter bars and higher HP, but guys with only one saw like a longer bar for more versatility in general.
