Progress has been almost non-existent since my last post.:picard::headbang:
Went to HD today and found the Armaflex for the OAK that Jon fishingpol suggested.
    I'll be using that soon.
Got a larger knife, a mud tray, paint rollers, a gallon of PVA primer, etc. Once I'm done with the final sanding, I can now just jump right on the primer.
We've decided on a light sage green for the upper walls........well, my wife has, and I concur. I'm smart like that.
Trying to keep the room as light colored as possible, as that room is now really bright just with the addition of drywall, especially when the sun's out. Nice.

papadave, I put up some drywall and mudded last week. I used the Ben Moore primer and paint in one in eggshell finish. I was very impressed. One coat over new drywall and done. It has a nice finish and rolls real nice.

So, last shopping trip, i grabbed some primer, rollers, etc., but got the rollers that look like they're made from cotton kitchen towels.
I don't like 'em. Once loaded with paint, they flatten out and lose the nap.
We've now decided (read that as, my wife decided) to just paint the walls, as we can always do wainscoting later if we want. She picked out a color called "minted Lemon".....it's a light green. :picard:
Saves me a bunch of work, so I agreed. Need to go get that paint, whatever trim I need, and start on that next. With the way things worked out, there are a few spots where I'm going to need to do some back-cutting on the trim to make it sit flat. I'll take some close-ups.
I think we'll be doing a light stain on the woodwork, but I'll be using a sealer first so it doesn't look too splotchy.
Pic is a little dark, but this is the green she likes.

We had a few potatoes that started sprouting, so this is where they end up........right in my way, but growing well.

The top l/h corner of this window is fairly bad. The king and jack studs on that side were both bowed. Never seen that in a wall before. I had to shim out the drywall at about the middle of the window to flush it up, but nothing I could do at the corner. Trim hides a lot of problems ........I hope.

The problem window (to the left of brickwork).

Just a little jamb extension scribing, free hand on the table saw leaving the line intact, plane or sand to fit- you got this!
    Nice potatoes BTW:)
Your wife's choice in color is about the same as our LR..... You might want her to change her mind, 'cos we can't be having the same color and whatnot!

I use the "towel" type rollers @ 4" for corner cut-ins. It takes light pressure to keep that nap from flattening out like you say. I preferred that set up when I used to paint way too often:doh:
Plus, I hate brush lines left from cutting in around trim:)

Looking gooder tho Dave, almost close enough to smell the finish line:D

I'll use a brush in the corners, then roll into it. Leaves an almost imperceptible brush stroke right in the corner.
That's the nice thing about painting before trim........all nice clean lines.
I'm not heavy handed with the roller....maybe I'm just not used to that type, as I've never used 'em before. Might just be the primer. Prolly me though. :picard:
Yeah, I'm gettin' closer to dunner all the time. Told the missus I'm on a roll, so I might go get the paint and stuff tomorrow.

Pun intended I see
I know what yer saying about rolling back over the brush lines, I used to do that too, but sometimes one would get ahead of himself and miss a spot or two:whistle:
Can't wait for the finished pics!

PS- guess we'll have to repaint our LR then.....

    So do I.
All the old windows are stacked up on the l/h side of the shed. We put 'em there, then went downstate for Christmas. When we got back, we had quite a snowstorm, so they got stuck there.
Waiting for the snow and ice to melt so I can move 'em. Wife wants to use 'em in a greenhouse.

Instead of driving all the way to HD for the paint, my wife suggested our new local Ace.
Less than a mile from the house......can do.
They were able to match the Behr color very well. Here's a fun little tidbit.........wife has a couple of Ameraucana chickens that lay sort of a green egg (Dr. Seuss, anyone?), and she had just brought in a couple eggs.
I grabbed one to compare to the paint, and whadya know, they were so close in color it was hard to tell a difference.
Anyway, prolly why she picked that color.
So, the plan is to get the room painted today. Cover me, I'm goin' in........after I have some more coffee.:coffee::coffee:
