The wood yard has been full of big rounds from that close in score so I finally started CSS'ing. I had hoped for 2.5 cords and here is what I have so far. Two full cords stacked. I had to use the splitter vertical, there was just no other way on those fibrous lower rounds. Now I have gotten to the more moderate rounds and I am partial splitting to the point that I can handle the splits with the splitter in it's proper horizontal position. I think I will get close to 3 full cords total. I have to get all this wood processed to make room for more. A friend of a friend is taking out 7 medium sized Doug Firs and rumor has it that my friend and I will get the trees. In the pictures the first 4 rows next to the trailer are the 2 chords of processed wood.

Eye appealing stacks there MC! My favorite are the skinny "pizza slice" wedges for cribbing. Will those get resplit when time to burn?

Since they are usually straight grained when they will split like that, they work great to rive into kindling or to place a whole one (if it fits) on top of a bed of coals.

Cool. Gotta love any straight grained wood when it comes to splitting.
