Engine got water in it? Did it go into a full drainage ditch? Or is the head gasket blown?

If they get the water out and the cylinders dont rust or the pistons didnt they and compare as the water that may not be an issue.

If thats the bad side in the pics its in good shape. If thats the good side , maybe not?

The guys driving it said they laid it over in a dry ditch, he "assumed" water got into the engine, not from an irrigation canal but leaks from the engine from being on its side.

Turns out its not 1/2 as bad as they described on the phone! Yep, thats the bad side, cool, huh!

The hood was jammed shut, for better or worse he turned it over. He said that after driving that many miles in it, he might have "heard" water in the engine, and he doesnt think so :)

    We'll get it checked out.

I bet out starts and is fine if things like radiator and such are fixed. Fuel shutoff may need to be reset or whatever deisels have to cut the fuel in an accident. I bet it runs.

  I guess the foreman heard the logo decals were done on the new truck. They already shuffled the trucks amongst themselves. It never even made it to the shop lol. Enjoy it friend (safely) :)

My boat has only made me money, given me a ton of great memories, and a lot of pulls behind it. Then again I did put 250 man hours and over 1000 in materials into it to restomod it how I wanted it. Still, its worth way more now than what I paid for it and what I put into it.

You should get that f250 fixed up and running again. 470k is nothing for those 7.3's.

Personally id rather have the truck than a boat. There tons of boats out there but only so many good solid 7.3L trucks.

Sure you can make money on certain boats but that is not the norm. If your a guide or restore a boat that is a collector item and do work yourself but most just cost

I have older boats so there cheap. I bought them cheap and just put fuel/oil and batteries in them and parts when they break.

I won't get what I have in the one I bought but can probably get 40% of what I had in it. But were only talking about like $3200 boat when I bought it 8 years ago.

My boat's a 78 correct craft competition ski boat, ski nautique with the 351w in it. I paid 4k for in in 2001 or 02. It's with at least 8k now.

But yeah, a truck is far more useful than a boat especially on a site like this, and most boats are money pits.

I totally agree, though we already have a new pickup, and my duramax (less than 100K), and the Blazer. The F250 will cost money to fix. I have no idea, just grateful we made some radical financial changes the last few years. Hubby finally has 2 toys he has wanted his whole life, and we are somehow absorbing new costs for health and uncle sam along with the inflation.

There is little for me to do to reduce costs further :-( I like my tv too much to give up cable.

I guess I could sell my house and get a trailer or small hose but that won't happen either. Could sell a few vehicles and get them off the road but thats not mega bucks either.

    Good on y'all.

You'd need a BIG boat to hold the weight of a 7.3 without the stem pointing to the stars...them suckers ain't light (1,100)...that's almost double your average V8 engine weight.

Ford's efi 351w gt-40 motor ( one of the most common and revered ski boat motors) was weighed at 911 pounds, fwiw. Iron heads, iron block, heavy cast iron marine exhaust manifolds, and assorted marine fuel and cooling system parts add up. By yeah, those 7.3's are big and look heavy.
