Yeah for me, I'm not sure which is #1 on the list. I think both the gained knowledge, and motivation are right up there. Guess the motivation may edge out the knowledge, cause I still have a lot to learn! Guess I'd add: 3. CAT stoves exist. 4. You can actually season ash. 5. There is a point in time called "shoulder season," before you start burning full time, where you can burn the chittier wood, instead of turning up the furnace a couple degrees.
1. FHC has inspired me to try new things that I might not have. 2. Nice to know that there are other Psycho wood gatherers out there. Campinspecter was feeling rather lonely. 3. Got to meet a really neat group of people from parts of the world I have never been. Yo'all were just back east before. Now I know a bit about different parts of "back east". 4. Stirred up the travelling bug to go visit "back east". 5. Oh, yeah - learned about the many ways to stack and store split wood especially on pallets!
Learning lots from great folks. Learned there is light @ the end of the tunnel, and it ain't the train. Had pretty well burned out else where and then I came here. It's all so good. This place is my daily "Fix". Like I said before, "Just like one big happy family"
You just sparked one for me WW, I learned some "SUPER" yummy recipies for "all" you folks, and I "LOVE" to cook!

Amen! On a serious note, this forum has taught me much and makes me smile every time I log on. It is good to know that so many good people can still get along so well, and are willing to help and uplift. I've spent a lot of time on a lot of different types and topics of forums, I've owned one and helped moderate several, and this one is definitely unique, in the best of ways.
