Spent the middle of the day recutting and restacking about 2 cords (1 row) of wood. My 24 inch logs that don't fit into the 30, are now 18 inch longs and a pile of ends for shoulder wood. Noted that the tarp idea has a real downside; holes. There were 3 or 4 spots where the wood was really wet. All had holes in the tarp just above. Some of the most dried wood was the Walnut at the end of the pile where the tarp fell short. I was worried how that stuff was going to be, but it was great. I had a bunch of shorty Walnut logs that I decided to take the hatchet to and make into kindling. Love the way the stove area smells with a batch of freshly split Walnut. The blur is the dog, who absolutely loves wood processing day! Threw the ball exactly 284 times today.
You re-cut & re-stacked 2 cords of prime time fire wood and all we get to see is a plastic trash can full of kindling ?????????? COME ON MAN !
Well, a request from so far away can not be denied. As you wish: You can see the ends pile, and the 2 wagons I use. The metal wagon is long since worn out. Litterally wore the wheels off the unit (bearings) as well as the steering mechanism. Now I use it to hold the wood for recutting. Also note the color change on the right side of the row. Walnut baby, Walnut. I loaded the plastic wagon full of Walnut because the smell from the kindling drove me to do so.
