We had a neighbor that had one. That baby got some mileage. Guy I grew up with got a diesel vw rabbit in high school. 60 MPG if you drove it right, never drive it right and was still 50 some. And then there was Richie with his baby chit yellow dart. That wrapped around a tree when the frame broke in half.

My wife drove a Chevy Chevette while in college, one day she drove it 35 miles to get home with no clutch. We still laugh about it, she’s tough!

They plan to ban all fire everywhere, of any kind. Goal is to cease combustion of anything.

They’ll go as far as banning sticks and shoestrings and convex lenses

Would you rather those fine particulates released far from where you live or right there in your kitchen though?

We need to be honest with ourselves, and acknowledge that many people do not plan ahead and aren't going to charge their EV at night. They can't change a smoke detector battery twice a year, but they are going to be responsible enough to plug in their car daily? Yeah, I don't think so. A small percent will. The rest will head to a packed line at a commercial charging station.

Also we need to acknowledge that the extra 30-50 amp breaker required for the EV charger will force folks to upgrade the standard 200 amp panel to something bigger and more $$$.

I'm fine with folks doing this stuff who choose to be more "green". To force it, and require it is wrong. Mark my words, this will all come back to bite us hard in the near future. I deal with this crap every day at my job.

Most people are not that responsible. And if everyone does do what you are saying, the demand will become much, much more. So the load on the grid will be significant.

People wanting to charge their EV at home in a reasonable time frame (not all night), will need comparable power to an electric range or clothes dryer.

The fact you think the only “fine particulates” released are from the gas is indicative…

I definitely prefer my trash to be burned in someone else’s back yard.

I dont think that at all. Just using the words provided in the statement. If you’re trying to insinuate something, I suggest you read the context from where those words came from.

I don't know where you came up with that; it just doesn't sound right at all! So, found this.

Distribution of residential heating fuel consumed in Wyoming in 2020, by type
    • Utility gas 60.12%
    • Electricity 22.62%
    • Bottled, tank, or LP gas 10.55%
    • Wood 4.86%

    • Coal or coke 0.38%
    • No fuel used 0.35%
    Utility gas
    • 60.12%

    What? No more cigars?

Crap, our she wolf of the SS has already added an excise tax to cigar purchases!

I was wondering the same. Building science has long known that heating a house with electricity is one of the most expensive ways to heat. That was before electric bills in my area went up on average 60% last month for no reason.

Wonder what the electric companies will do when the demand is super high and there is no other available option :picard:

This isn't about being green. The codes were designed for safety and minimum standards. Not to push agendas and line pockets. I'll be quiet now, before I get in trouble.
