I thought electric ovens were fine? Nothing like the control of a gas range, but the same could be said for electric ovens.

Now... I have some really awesome electric "ovens" at work if y'all are really concerned about the impact on the grid.

They were shutting down coal plants and installing dual-fuel gas turbines all over the Northeast 5-6 years ago. But half the time the turbines were running on oil instead of gas due to delivery problems.

It is. They canned that Fake Nuke plant!! We all got scammed by Santee Cooper (Now Dominion Energy) for a decade or more and we consumers won the lawsuit against the Fake Nuke Plant! I actually got in the mail last week what I think my last settlement check for the ordeal...a whooping $62 on this one!!

But the one I'm talking about is closer to me than the Fake Nuke Plant would have been, the one I'm referring to is Plant Vogul below Augusta GA, which is a Georgia Power project.

Sister project to the V.C. Summer "fake" (I like that!) plant. The cost overruns on both projects sunk Westinghouse.

Crazy how they could build these plants for 3-4 billion (in 2021 dollars) back in the late 1970's and generate huge power for 50 years. Now the Vogtle plant (2 new reactors) is at $30b and counting and we haven't generated squat yet. Similar costs were projected for the V.C. Summer project's two reactor expansion as well.

Oh yea I know there way over running costs and way behind on delivery date. I'm not as up on what's going on there cause I'm not actually paying for it like I was the Santee Cooper (VC Sumnor) plant.

That film on the inside of your car windows that is hard to remove is mostly the results of off gassing. In my experience its much worse if the vehicle is new. Like carpet used to off gas in your home. Not sure if it still does.

It’s in the “new” 2021 IECC (International Energy Conservation Code) Its a specialized I code that falls under the International Residential Code, which governs one and two family homes in most states. I’m not saying all states will choose to adopt it, but many already have like Massachusetts “green communities”. Many did it for the grant money they will receive. This requirement is for new construction homes.

This whole thread is political, you’re discussing politicians making policy changes to remove gas stoves.

I call BS A coffee pot and toaster can be on a 15 amp breaker/circuit!!

It’s comments like this that cause people to stop listening to the positive of new technology and hurts your cause.

your charging station at home is on a dedicated breaker!! Probably 30 amp or larger

The amp draw is meaningless without the amount of time used to charge said ev. There’s no way a car uses less power than a toaster and coffee maker.

I have no idea what the draw is exactly, but I know they do pull less amps (take much longer to charge) when plugged into a 120v outlet vs a "fast charge" station
EDIT: I just googled the subject and it said 12 amps on 120v is pretty common.
