Since we're into pics, here are the ones I currently reach for. I swear I'm not a brand-loyalist.

Yep, that's the one I totally rebuilt in a 440 case. Not very pretty, but a terrific runner, all stock except for a homemade base gasket to decrease the squish. Could still use a carb kit, and a DP muffler cover if I want to get fancy.

It really depends on the project...they're all my favorites. My go-to saw would have to be the 036

If I am up in the mountains falling and limbing beetle kill pine I like my ported Poulan 335.
If I am scrounging huge rounds of cottonwood then I take the Poulan 505 and the Husky 2100cd.
If I am at home bucking up rounds then I might use just about anything.

My 262xp and old 61 are my favorites in the line-up, but, I do find myself normally grabbing my ps-510 for most of the cutting I do, then the 61 for anything larger. I rotate through the saws to give them each some run time, but the ps-510 gets most of the work - most of the trees I'm allowed to drop are usually 12" or so. Cheers!

So far for me it's been the little 251. It's cut every piece of wood I have in my stacks. Looking forward to using the 461 but the 251 isn't going anywhere. 1420140812928.jpg 1420140845622.jpg

251 is a darn good saw. Better than they get credit for :)

for years it was my husky 365, then I found the internet and made it a 372. ported 372 with a 20" or 25" for most cutting duties. the 550xp is slowly becoming my go to mid range saw for the small stuff up to the 18-20" range.

those two saws will cut 95% of the wood we have around here with ease. It kinda shows the size.. being used to the 365/372 weight and size, the 550/545 is so light and nimble... I never liked small saws for firewood, but the 5100 started me on the 50cc saw size, and the 550 just made me think wow, awesome saw, light, powerful enough to run 3/8 chain.... I disliked most 60cc saws (365 is really a 70cc power, but its a bigger frame). most 60cc saws are heavy as a 70cc with 50cc power.

I loved my 5100 for years... it was heavier and bulkier than the 550 though...

    Not so with the 357xp, 555 & 562xp. All three will smoke a 50cc & weigh close to 2 lbs less than a 70cc. :)
