Last week, all the big hardwood around my home in North Central Mass was still green.. now this week, they've gone almost ready to fall.

The oaks did seem to turn in a hurry this year! Very nice row of trees.

I was out for a ride on my motorcycle one day up in Vermont, just off Rt 100 near Mt Snow/Dover area. What I noticed was the east facing sides of mountains were completely colored.. then looking east I noticed the west facing sides had barely turned at all. Same thing on my street that line-up of big oaks and maples are not getting sun until late afternoon, and even then the light is blocked by trees on the other side of the road. But as soon as it turned cold a few nights last week, down into the low 30s they went from green through orange into brown and ready to drop quite soon.

More rain tonight. My ground isn't frozen yet either. But I'm guessing November will change all of that! :)

Our maples are completely done, but the Red Oak on Mt Flamstead are glorious today.

I'm dying because I am unable to ride my motorcycles past your beautiful piece of heaven on Rt103 toward Ludlow. (rotator cuff surgery) It's been such a beautiful October.

Beautiful pics Bert, your killing me as I am in week two Post-Op of my rotator cuff surgery. By the time I will be ready to ride again, I'll be riding a Ariens snowblower instead. :)

But ride on and ride safe!!!

Thanks Oldhippie, I think this will be the last of the fall pictures for this year, 14°f is forecast for tonight. :fire: I feel your pain, recovery is short lived, I've had both shoulders done.

I don’t envy you that recovery - my brother has had it a couple of times and it looks like no fun. Hope you are well on the mend. Do be sure to drop in one of these days on your way through.

I will, maybe this winter if I get to go on a scenic ride up through Chester to Ludlow. I'll give you a heads up before I just pop in. I'll bring my camera!
