Yup, plan to. I'll capture a bunch of pellets and the fines right from the pellet chute and take some pics. I'm running a corn pellet mix right now so I'll do it afterwards. The corn seems to help provide a better flow of pellets oddly enough.

Going to have to get on to the G/F's dad about a source of corn!

    Hey Dex,

Thanks a pile for that last set of pics. It gives me a really good idea of what steps I can take to better the air flow through the burn pot.

I did a pile of work on that stupid trap door to get it to seal better as when I got the stove there was a good 3/16" gap along the front. I've got it down to less than a 1/16" all the way around. But think I'll pull the burn pot frame and weld it solid. I was going to when I did the other mods, but wasn't sure if I was shooting myself in the foot or not. I now see after running the unit it isn't needed.

I like the gasket idea around the burn pot itself. I'll have to see how I can apply that to my V3 burn pot.

I also opened up a few holes today in the side of the burn pot. Just to help put a bit of ait in on the sides.

One piece at a time I guess.

    Why, Thank You. :D

Yes, the heat exchanger tubes are a 'joy' to clean, but you should be good to go until end-of-season maintenance. ( Multiple dirty burns will soot them up again, burning HOT, like you seem to have been, will keep them clean. )

Hey, given the amount of air you guys are moving, that's a very good improvement !

You're getting there BAN, keep up the great work - you'll get it dialed-in soon.

Beat that auger into submission with a hammer, get that uncooperative component straightened out.

(That would be my -next- task on the to-do list here.) More material in the burn pot = Hotter Fire / better Heat Exchange output.

    BTW, Nice pics guys!

Also, note the ignitor tube placement. That tube should terminate right where the 2 large holes are in that side of the pot. If it is turned any other way, your ignition will be delayed.

    I can't belive I forgot about the gaskets. .

I've done so much the past 5 years to get where I am now, it's kinda hard to remember it all. I need to start a thread on upgrades and cleaning the Endurance 50F. But that will likely take over a day.. Hopefully one day this winter I will. :)

The gasket on the top and sides should still work on your pot. The bottom of your pot is one piece, as opposed to mine being 2. So it should pretty much be the same.

HAHA Yeah, I might have to take my Process hat off and put on the Millwright hat and go a little medieval on the auger assembly! I'll head there next after the holidays probably. We are doing dinner here so I have a chit load of work ahead of me the next two days to get ready. Really I shouldn't have been playing with the stove today. Going to end up getting :heidi:

Just the hopper alignment made a big difference in the pellet quality getting to the burn pot though. I'm actually seeing a few full sized pellets dropping in now.

Hey no worries. I'm just glad that you remembered. I know you had posted pics showing the gasket on the burn pot halves, but not of the gasket on the upper part where the burn pot seats.

Also, I can confirm my igniter is oriented the correct way now. Thanks for the pic. The turn I did about a month back put it into the correct spot. Also, it is starting a lot better now that I don't screw around with it on start up. I'm seeing sparks in a couple minutes now and flame less than 5 min. I'll re time in on the next cold start up I do.

That'd be a good thread to get going then put a sticky on it.

Tried this today with zero luck. My brother is home from work so I'm going to see if he has a bore scope! If not I may have to purchase one :D

Just curious are you burning softwood or hardwoods? When I started it up I had bought whatever was available which was Fireside Ultra(softwood)I finished the install mid Jan. Yes I know great planning lol, but I didn't think it would take that long but it took a bit. Eventually found something different which were hardwoods. I showed Dex the video I put on YouTube. For whatever reason the furnace came to life. Heat was a lot more cause my wife noticed it, Tstat was same and she said why did it get so hot in here LOL. Of course I had 2 tons left of the fireside which I started this season with cause the heat output is ok, not great with those. But it's 60 degrees today so anything feels hot if and when it runs. On fuelmizer mode for past week or so with these high temps. So burn different types of pellets and see which works best in your furnace. The 50f is like a woman.....they need to be taken care of, they like different things, they get moody once in a while and don't cooperate, there HOT, and we can't live without em:dancer:

HaHa, of how right you are in regards to the 50F being like a women and needs to be treated just so to keep her happy.

I know I keep saying this, and forgive me. I have come across this with my Harman, just not to this extent. The worst pellet I ever burn were Granules LG. Feed rate maxed out wouldn't hardly give me any heat out of the Harman.

For the most part I have been burning softwoods, but I have a bag of Cubex of deck that Ivanhoe traded me. I just didn't want to waste them if I didn't have the stove running just right. I think I am getting to the point I can try them next.

Currently I am burning a softwood corn mix in the 50F. I left the stove running on heat setting 2 all night and the house is 21 C upstairs and I don't know how warm down stairs, but it's very warm. I just shut if off and I am going to let it cool then give everything a look over.

I won't. I think I'll just go it with what's in the stove now. It'll still show the same effect. I'll just waiting for it to cool plus I have to get some cleaning and shopping done. I'll probably get the samples and take pics this evening.

Huh? OK, I'm confused........all I hear from Harman owners is how they are the best thing since sliced bread, etc, etc., and that the stove adjusts itself to burn ANY pellet and get heat. Am I missing something?

Might have been an air issue.. Having burned a few tons of the Granules LG - if they don't have sufficient combustion air, they will burn slow and dirty, I really have to kick up combustion air here for them to burn well (vs. other pellets) on the stove, I think that's due to the spruce/pine mix of the pellet.

Noticed black soot on my glass this morning when I started to do a fast cleaning. Furnace was shut down Wednesday morning and was running on #1 for a bit, looks like my trim needs more air for the low setting. You do hear the exhaust fan slow down when dropping heat setting to #1. Will be firing up tonight as the weather is getting to be cold again. I've been burning Okie's Platinum softwood.

No Xmas vacation here:D Finished cleaning and did a modification on the burn pot:whistle:I've RTV glued a small door rope seal around the perimeter of the main burn pot frame so when I place the top portion with chute it tighten the air seal for the glass air wash/overfire air. With the added thickness, the pellet chute was a tad too high for the auger chute so I made a slight bend to the pellet chute:smoke:The original design had metal to metal seal for the air distribution and the main burn pot has a slight defect which made the metal to metal a rocking chair seal. I hope the rope seal will eliminate leakage. Note; this only applies to the older version G burn pot which AMC343 & I have, there may be others...,

Fired up and trim level was on #1, no wonder it was burning rich. I bumped it up to #4 and the fire is a lot more lively.

When my unit burns on 1 for more than an hour? It gets a little dark. But I run the air low and the fuel high (more heat when idling). The wife left the stove on the other day and it ran on level 1 all day. The glass was dark, as was the firebox.

I see there's also a pellet feed adjustment along with the air adjustment. I'm still learning how this Fahrenheit ticks:whistle:
