Our spouts on the five gallon gas cans started to leak so I purchased two of these today, I tested them and no leaks. I ended up buying the water ones, that's all they had in stock, hopefully the color is the only difference. This kit comes with two caps, the yellow ones fit better on ours. We'll see how long these last. http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/ez-pour-hi-flo-replacement-spout-kit http://ezpourspout.com/ez-pour-products/
I've got to get one for my 2 1/4 chain saw gas can. And also for the splitter gas can...it has one of those dammed no-spill child-proof or what ever the hell they're supposed to protect us against!!
Thanks for posting this. I need a couple of these. One to use on the one gallon chainsaw fuel jug. And one to use on any of the five gallon jugs for gas and diesel. I will go to TSC this weekend. yooperdave. I here you on those sonsa............................... I have a couple of those and I never use them. I take the spout off and put an old spout on from an older model.
My last safety can became modified quickly after its first use. Now I just remove the self tapping screw that is where the old pencil hole vents used to be on the back of the handle. Never had a problem pouring after that.
Good we can still find them but they surely have a high enough price on them. But, I may pick up a couple because I have a couple cans that could use them. Still cheaper than buying the whole can. btw, the price of gas went from $1.72 yesterday to $1.99 today.
I bought one of those goofy "no spill" jugs to replace my 2 stroke jug (all I could find). Somehow or another, the no spill feature no longer works, so I'm using it just like the old style. Works great now.
If you are in the market for a new can, that actually works, these are my favorite for small handheld equipment. There's more to these than the spouts too. They don't have any parts to lose, they are much thicker than any other poly-can I've seen sold recently, and they are much "faster" than other designs so you don't grow old(er) waiting for them to empty. Still not as fast as the old cans tho. They are pretty easy to find wherever small engine stuff is sold as several OEM's and Aftermarket parts suppliers carry them. They have a good reputation with those of us in this biz too.
I must admit though, Jill is a good salesperson. She does a good job in the video and the video is well done. Very clear and to the point. Looks like a good product. Her being attractive is also helpful. Nothing wrong with that! Today, I went to TSC to grab a gallon of bar and chain oil. I remembered I wanted to look at the replacement nozzles that thewoodlands posted about. I needed one for my mixed fuel. It was time to toss the old flexible spout of the mixed fuel container I had. It had cracked in between where it flexes and was leaking gas. P.I.A. They were there. And beside them was the no-spill containers. I remembered the jugs, I mean, the containers. Well they are jugs. Fuel jugs. Anywho, and remembered how neat they would be. NO! Wait. The CONTAINERS. So I decided to buy the small one for my mixed fuel for the chainsaws and the combi system. Can't wait to try it out. It would be nice to buy a pair of the big ones too. But a pair of the big ones could really, really be expensive.
My diesel can has those and the pleats started cracking and leaking when it was two years old. Of course it's a little bigger than the ones on my old gas cans so it won't swap. I have an (now) old replacement spout that I've never found a gas can that the threads match to use it on. I have a metal gas can for gas with a built in funnel that works rather well for me.
