We've had that here a few nights too, especially in the Austrian Pine. Drives the dogs nuts thinking it's intruders.
When it gets -30°, our bedroom being upstairs on a story and a half house has the angled ceiling and you would swear someone is on the roof with a bat the way rafters pop in the cold. A couple years ago we had an extremely wet fall and the frost heaved the garage floor so bad the walk through door wouldn't latch and the heave down the middle made the snow blow under the edges of the big door. 2 years later and it never settled back all the way but can at least latch the walk through.
