Enough already...

    It's mid-May. The stove should have been cold since the end of March. I already cleaned it for the season.

    Wife walks in from work and states, "It's cold in here!". I go about what I was doing and the next thing I hear is,"Where's the fire?"

    Cool and damp all day with no sun. House was in the mid-60s. Now there is a small fire going. A happy wife is more important than a clean stove...

    kaptn, you are right going to light mine now they say 20s, to nite but was warm and sun setting now! Warm wife burning sugar maple she will Crack bedroom window by mornin :picard:

    Which is just about right around here.
    This is starting to get a tad late though.
    Do you really normally stop the end of March? Man, that would be great....I could plant the garden earlier.
    On a positive note......you get to have fire.:thumbs:

    We finish 24/7 burning towards the end of March. By the first week in April we have an occasional morning or evening fire. Mid-April I clean the stove & flue.

    She didn't have to mention a fire twice...

    That's our normal......about a month later.
    I'll have a fire in July if it gets chilly enough.:thumbs:
