I've been checking out the Drolet HT2000 as well. Lowe's, which is nearby, has it for a little over $1500. Rural King has them for a little over $1100 but the nearest Rural King is in Clearfield which is a little over an hours drive. Well worth it for $400. Also a good reason to go to Denny's Beer Barrel Pub. If you're ever traveling through PA I highly recommend swinging through Clearfield to try it out.

Dug deep on FB marketplace a NC30 for $4o0.
My in-laws have a decent sized hearth with (forgive me for the vague description) a set of glass doors and one of those heatilator vent things going on in the brick work. Did the measurements and the stove will fit- so we're going to put it in. If it doesn't suit their needs I suppose for $400 it wont be a major loss and they could put the old firebox in, but I can't really see how this will fail.
They're weekend warrior burners, so if anything- despite the wood stove heating gain, they wont have the open hearth heat loss.
