You don't think Freddies will have one? :)
I could check the hardware store, but I doubt they'll have anything.
    Stove shop in Lewiston might.
Unless I'm already headed over there, I'd spend almost as much in gas as I would just ordering the thing.

Little did Carly realize that it would be 2014 when Dave FINALLY got a new stove.. Just think she was anticipating Dave getting a new stove back in 1971! Now she's a wretched old woman who doesn't remember ever singing that song lol..

I was in love with her for a little bit back then.
However, she didn't even know I existed.
    I was 17 that year. :)

Al, I ordered the probe thermo. you linked. It should be here about the same time as the pipe.
    Thanks for that.

One small problem in the plan.....my wife has been going through her "sewing room".....(I'm still amazed she can fit 20lbs of crap into a 5lb bag), and there are boxes all over the stove room and living room.
She wants to put at least one set of bunk beds in there for the grandkids, so it's for a gooder cause, but wow.........
    We'll make it work.

I stopped at Freddie's, right after they started selling the 'hearth accessories'. He told me he ordered a probe for somebody, and they would probably keep one in stock. Nope. I have stopped in Fairview three times, and they just have an empty hook where one should be hanging. Makes it hard to support the local economy, but I guess the folks at Amazon hafta eat, too.

Dave, it always comes down to more work than anticipated to get a project done. Gotta add in those cushion days on any projects.

You should like that probe. I've used it this whole heating season. Much easier to tell when you're heating your house or just heating the flue. With mine, I get the stove top and flue thermometer within 100 degrees of each other to get a decent burn. If I can get the stove hotter'n the flue, then I'm golden.

You'll experiment to see what works best with the 30, and you'll be glad you got the flue thermometer. Let us know how it goes.

The Selkirk doublewall just got here a few minutes ago.....wasn't due until Thursday.
It should give me about 5" to fit it, then slide it open. Came with a finishing band.
I'll need to look at the instructions again, since both ends are crimped, but I'm thinking this end goes in the stove collar.

And, this end goes into the ceiling support adapter with the finishing band around it.

Checked the brick behind the single wall this morning with the IR gun. Between 155° and 160°.
Hoping this will drop that a bit, although that's probably fine.
I tend to "overkill" sometimes.

Dave, I have the Duravent double wall and the adapter goes on the stove collar. Kind of looks like the opposite of what your install may look like. If it has stickers on it, like mine still does. Reading them right side up will show the direction of installation. Try to check an install pic on the net to confirm. Also, you may want to call Selkirk to make double sure.

Good luck. I know you will keep the heat off the bricks with the double wall.

Dave, ok, I'm dyslexic. I Reread your post, and think you do have it right. I was reading the captions for the pics in the wrong order.

    Lysdexic.
Just got a call from the freight company to confirm stove delivery tomorrow morning between 9-11 a.m.
I think the bottom pic makes more sense at the ceiling with the finish collar over it.
Can't see putting the finish collar going over the other end. It just has me confuzzled because the male pipe at the ceiling will be going counter to most other suggestions of male down.

The class A adapter at the ceiling will fit inside of that crimped end, and the finishing band covers it all up. If you needed a stove adapter, it would look the same. Crimped end up, but the inside crimp in the pipe fits inside the crimp of the adapter. If that makes any sense. Lots of crimping goin on. It's pretty obvious when you go to put it together.

Dave, just had an epiphany. When the pipe is expanded, the outer pipe goes to the ceiling mount. Seems counterintuitive compared to single wall, but after looking at mine, that is how it goes.

Ok, that's the way I thought it should go.
I did a quick measurement (pipe is hot right now) and it looks like the adapter will fit down inside the doublewall crimp, then I can put the finish ring over it.
    Guess I'll find out tomorrow.:)
Jeff is saying the same thing.

IIRC from installing a telescoping section on my BIL's (formerly my) Fireview, it'll only fit one way.
Yeah, those may come in handy. :D
