Englander at Lowes Dayville CT

Agreed, probably still money. I feel there is probably 100% markup give or take on such things.

 

it just pizzes me off the other stores wont honor the price even though its advertized on the net.....i spent prolly 1.5 hours on the phone last night with lowes stores all over and customer service.........all i can say is they dont like me very much anymore.

I had a similar issue last year. They eventually credited my account but I am not winning any customer of the year awards. Give em hell

Why is that?? HD has the same stove for $1999. Either Lowes is taking a HUGE loss or there is easy 100% markup.

 

I would venture to guess these units are factory refurb units from prior customer returns, repaired in-house damaged stock, or both - price difference seems too great to be otherwise..

Unlikely Lowes is taking a huge loss......more likely, like CleanFire above stated, they are refurbs....therefore, Englander is taking a loss here, selling them to Lowes cheaply to get them out of whatever warehouse they store "returns" in......given the agreements the BB's enter into with a manufacturer, if it were unprofitable to them, Lowe's simply wouldnt keep it, and would have Englander pick them up. The BB's require much better service typically (from the manufacturers), than the typical mom and pop store (which is why you wont generally find those same units IN the mom and pop stores!)........anyhow, yea, caveat emptor on these things
