Back in the field after work lastnite dealing with some of the dead elm tops and will be moving the sawbuck today to deal with a bunch of small dead elm/ironwood that was found the other day. Probably wont get to block the main tree's here till after hunting season as there is alot of nice small dead stuff to cut up in the woods.
Headed out today and Booms was all over it. Mrs loon and the blurr brother were getting ready for another load here.
Ya its not looking too bad woods. He's got any situation covered stinny. That thing is worth its weight Rock!! Just keep throwing it in the little trailer and go find dead stuff to cut up.. Oh Ya.. Pretty sure i gotta get another small saw as the 170 is always in action and the 290 gets a little on the heavy side trying to keep the Mrs well stocked.
With the blur brothers and Emma and Mrs Loon helping you should be able to knock that stuff out in no time those dogs are quite the characters I tell Ya
They do like to help Rock. The only problem with taking them into the woods is that they always find a nice coat full of burrs. Found another large dead elm yesterday that might have to be dealt with today.
Went out and dealt with that elm and it didnt go very well. Things were fine till it started dropping the wrong way then turned enough to crotch out on another tree then i tripped trying to get the hell outta the way. Just a little heads up for everyone here on the board i guess is what i'm yacking about right now. They can wait there till i go get em with the tractor. Came back to the house to this fun.
Everything is fine Rock. It was one of those trees that went straight up and had a couple large limbs going different ways. I didnt double check the limbs and pretty sure one of them hit another tree after the cut. Supposed to be a nice day today so i'll grab the 170 to make a path to them and 4 wheeler/trailer them out. Sorry to say that the gang has to use the couch 'inside' the house now.
Ended up in another spot that held a nice bark free little elm and the Mrs found a dead maple that came home also. Had some company down to the right of us show up that didnt care that we were there running the saws.
Ya it was a beauty today eh woods. Cold real fast when the sun went down.. Just had to wait till she cranked the saw up in between steps to the side of the field Rock.
