Yeah, I built a red neck version of a DR Power Wagon out of a snow blower frame, motor and drive mechanism. I put a box on the front of it with big castor wheels. But as others pointed out above, these drive mechanisms aren’t designed to move the weights involved in, say, moving firewood.

Better to save up and buy a used DR Power Wagon. Of all the options out there, a used Power Wagon is the best combination of affordable and functional.

Now that I have a 4x4 tractor and rear carry all, moving firewood is not an issue.

I figured that would be a determining factor...with the exception of the concrete buggy.

I realize it won't replace a tractor and bucket, but if you don't mind, would you explain the down falls you encountered. For instance, what did you make the box out of and what weight was it empty and how did it perform? What was the size of your box and depth? When did it not do what you wanted and why? Did the power train fail, spin or refuse to turn? What terrain were you trying to traverse causing your failures? Thanks in advance.

If you do a search for “diy powered wagon snowblower” you’ll get lots of results. I don’t have any photos or dimensions. I built it roughly based on the images I found online with sides about 2’ high: F1864983-1E0B-4AD1-9CEC-BC0A5EC11D6E.jpeg E593F058-6D84-4220-9F9B-663D75A28B0C.jpeg

Mainly we had trouble turning it, especially when loaded moving over uneven ground in the woods. And the drive mechanism kept slipping.

Boy, a hydro-walk converted would be a quick, agile machine.

Thanks Brian, that is essentially what I was envisioning with a wheelbarrow tub on it for moving manure out of our barn to the pile. Old chicken barn with low roof and my pens created narrow alleys. Wife got her foot crushed at work years ago and try to make things simpler for her.

If I build something I'll be sure to share and you better believe it will be tuned, ported, polished.

I would need to dig mine out to get pictures, but I have a battery powered wheelbarrow. I even think it is a Yardmaxx, but could be wrong.

This guy did a clean job of making, what looks like a fun build.
