Most times it is pretty ugly. (changing the pecking order of the flock.) At that age mostly good for stewing hens. If you do introduce them hold on for the Hen fights
Well I just picked up the four new girls. It was quite interesting watching him pulling them off the roost... I think he kinda pizzed off the rooster a bit when he grab the girl beside him.... No more snuggle buddies for her though...
When I picked up our current flock, last fall, the guy chased them around the coop with a fishing net and still had a hard time catching them. Feathers were flying everywhere.
Got the new run taken care of this morning. So they have a top on now. There's been some blood shed, but not too bad yet... It'll be probably a couple weeks of pecking order authority check.
I guess they are getting along fine. Which is a lot quicker than I figured. As far as Lilly I havent heard since the last posting in the BS thread. Probably wont know more til the morning, but I just texted my friend to see if another updates before she left work.
You folks with no snow or ice! . Our temps here are as cold as January temps. While some has melted, we still have way too much. Enjoy the old girls.
As far down as NY too, we are still getting overnight temps in the low teens and highs only in the thirties. Isn't going to warm up till Tuesday. Why do I still live in the northeast.
