Effect of moisture content vs burn

    It's not really that bad, I am burning the same wood I did in my pre EPA stove for the most part, it does not take 3 years to get wood dry enough for good burns in a EPA stove, I do it all the time and it burns great.

    hey NH mountain man if left on ground for 2 years.. small branch I can squeeze with my hand and get water out.. wood is rotted.. I was gonna do a video with a title Birch wood acting like a sponge.. just to tease Backwoods Savage :rofl: :lol: have to wait til spring though right now it's frozen...

    No tease necessary. Wood is not a sponge....except when it becomes punky. Then it is no longer wood but junk.

    Canadian border VT , you know of exactly what you speak of. Birch, Paper Birch just rots so fast from the inside it ain't funny.

    Yes, because the moisture meter won't read accurately until it's at least 68°. :rofl: :lol::thumbs:
