They had to apease the dinks over at the EPA... I think they felt strato tech was the future and not just hanging a catalytic can on the front of the venerable 372... Though for selfish reasons, I wish they would have... And I even prefer the 365 special to the 365xt. I'll be glad to give up those 6 cc's for a better overall machine...
    Sturdy base.
    Generous oiler.
    Easily modified.
Healthy fuel consumption. I.E. tune well and run cool, bathed in generous amounts of cool fuel and oil.
    Simple maintenance.

That being said, I really like my 562...

I work in the electrical field and obsolescence is a fact of life! You are lucky if you get 10 years on electrical components.. This is progress as we know it.. Usually things are better, pricing tends to decrease and components get smaller.. Most times wiring and program changes are required and this where it can get difficult.. I would think chainsaws go down the same road with emission requirements tightened which require mechanical and\or electronic changes.. Just think how much maintenance would be required if spark control was via a set of points! That being said as much as I like the cars from the sixties I would much rather own a modern one that never requires a tune up and starts and runs the same every day!

Good 372's(non x torq) with oem p&c are getting hard to find. If there was a better 70cc saw made I'm not aware of it.

I'll vouch for AWOL's green 81. It doesn't stream chips, it sends them out in wads.:rootintootin:

It's not real hard to make wads of chips when it's pulling 34" of full comp semi chisel, buried in that Wisconsin Oak!
I have always been impressed by Efcos quality for the money. I still would like to pick up a 962 someday, to work over.
