Renting one and using it for a weekend is something to consider. I don’t use mine all the time, but when I do it makes a number of tasks easier. The pole saw has kept me from doing some otherwise dangerous cutting that would be way too risky for my likes. Buying my gas pole saw was much cheaper than a visit to the Emergency Room. I also can cut 12 feet into a thicket and not get poison ivy. The same could be said for an electric pole saw as well. Echo makes good stuff, but no experience with their battery OPE.

I could probably think of things to do with mine, but I'm not running short and only pull it out when it's the only tool that will get the job done. I did manage not to kill myself previous to owning it.

I have a Dewalt pole saw. It works surprisingly well. I wouldn't want to make a living with it, but for what I need (trimming field edge, shooting lanes) it does just fine.

We dont have anywhere close buy for tool rental, and I think I would have enough use to warrant having it. I also tend to do things kinda sur of the minute, or when I find time/can work it in...in other words the planning ahead to be able to go rent probably wouldn't work out and the stuff would never get cut.

Most of the stuff I need to cut is fairly small...probably soda can and smaller for 80%+. So I'm thinking the battery version might be an option. Plus quite, no noise between cuts and no cranking. Hmmm

If it’s something that you won’t use very often the other benefit is not dealing with bad gas from it sitting around
