Ummm probably run 5:1 aluminum on aluminum... No, this was the jug I used for mock up. Plating wass trashed so why not see how far it could open up. Really looking into small scale casting stuff. Probably end up casting new jugs. Vs the billet. Seems I have most of the stuff to make the foundry. And the basics are within my grasp. If ya couldn't tell I don't mind screwing stuff up trying to learn lol Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I am going to build a torq fixture Thick plate snug on the cylinder extension. So the jug can be torqued down like it was bolted to the case. That plate will be held into a thick walled tube so I can chuck it in the lathe and bore the cylinder out. Feel this will give me a lot more accurate cut/finish. Also allow rigging the hone to the lathe for final hone of the sleeve Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Holy lathe work!! Is that one of the billets spun down already!?[/QUOTE] Holy lathe work is right ... if red97 did that from a solid block I’ll be a monkeys uncle !!!

Got the sleeve material, that is about it. Going to be a slow go from here I'm afraid. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
52mm. Afraid im running out of time to get it done. Cleaning my late grandpas estate for a sale. Getting ready to start a big work project end of the month. That will be a good 3 months worth of 7-12's away from home. Just not enough hours in the day. After the sale, going to buy/renovate/move into grandpas place. In other words my 2018 is shot... probably first part of 2019 too lol Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Well it was nice knowing ya. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Life does get in the way sometimes.
Here is a pic of the next project. Has to be welded up. Be close to 15k lbs of wire in it by the time it's done... All layed by hand. The leg as to be filled in, and the low part of the bed has to be filled up to the flat shelf you can see in the middle of the pic. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
