Ex set at 104 Transfers at 124 Intake at 81. I widened both the exhast and intake just a bit. Progress... All put together. With the 620 coil. Couldn't get it to pop, gotta get impuls/fuel lines spark plug and a carb kit. Swapped to the original coil and still no pop, even with fuel down the carb. Have to double check a couple things. Numbers ended up a bit higher that I was wanting, but should be able to take advantage of the unlimited 620 coil. Plan on running 20-24" 3/8 on it.
Found my spark checker... no spark cause the kill switch was on lol Did a carb kit, think I knocked out a check valve in the brass main jet. Stuck at 12500 or less 4 stroking hard even with the high all the way in and unlimited coil. Gonna try swapping carbs tomorrow. But this thing feels nasty.. hopefully it only gets better.
20's but the 359 is small mount narrow bar 69 dl I think and the echo is 70dl. The echo and 359 have new rs chains.
It lives. Ordering a 620 carb for it, this one is 13500 max. Think it wants to be round 14k. The larger venturi won't hurt either.
Red97 ! Hey I'm going to need your address to send you my 590 when you get things all figured out. LOL Can't wait to see it in some wood!! Thanks for sharing.
Well heere is a clip. Barcroftb running trigger. It was set at 12500 ish could only get it up round 13,200 still 4 stroked through the cut. Once I get a 620 carb installed I think this will be a nice saw. First cut just letting the chain do its thing. Second, well you see 70 dl of stihl 3/8.050 rs fresh off the roll.
Stout saw! It took everything I gave it on the second cut and asked for more! Can't wait to run it after you get the 620 carb on it.
I have 2 more to build. A mild, and medium. This one is the spicy recipe. It is going to cost roughly 180$ in parts coil/carb for this saw to reach full potential over the stock 590 carb/coil. Not a very cost effective option. The other 2 will use the stock coil/carb. This saw is probably down 15% or more, 4 stroking that hard through the cut. Plan on doing quite a bit of testing once I get all 3 where I want them.
Well put the 620 carb on today, didn't really notice a change, and still couldn't lean the high side... Though maybe the large muffler mod wasn't scavenging properly, swapped on a stock muffler no change either. Still has some sort of auxiliary bypass port. Guess the next step is to retro fit an old carb.
