I don't have a set recipe; if I have celery in the fridge begging to be used, I'll throw it in. I would also do the same with other things such as mushrooms. Usual ingredients are tomatoes (I hate using canned because they usually add sugar - but will us it if I have to), onions, sweet peppers, maybe a few hot peppers, Some sort of meat (chunk steak, ground beef/pork/sausage, chunk chicken). Beans of any sort are good and usually I use a variety including chickpeas, red, kidney, white northerns. Heck, I've been known to use a bag of 7 bean soup mix. If I use a package seasoning, it is McCormick's. Or, I throw in cumin, ginger, basil, pepper, maybe garlic, a bit of salt and anything else that sounds good at the moment.
The Chili for dinner has begun. It is now finished and slow cookin! This batch has some extra bean power in it. loon , thewoodlands , rottiman . You guys may want to tie anything down you have outside before I go out for my evening walk after dinner.
