48 hours in, still on generator power. Slight inconvenience. My only gripe was the lack of coffee this morning. I didn't want to start the generator before 7 out of respect for my neighbor who is really close on that side. That's two hours later than usual!

So I went out and bought a percolator tonight. Once the stove is roaring in the morning, I'll get my fix!

Soooo glad you posted that, just reminded me that we have a percolator in our camping supply box, I'll have to dig that out one of these days, or at least put together a "power outage" box.

Although my neighbors are far enough away that the genny wouldn't bother them, and there's an outlet for that as well, it's good to know that coffee can be made irregardless.

    Thx for the reminder. :thumbs::thumbs:

edit.. Just as an update note, we barely got an inch of snow last night.. looks like the forecasters cried 'wolf' a bit quickly for our area. Still snowing tonight, may end up with about 4-6 inches by tomorrow if it keeps up. No biggie there.

24 hours without power, really love the generator and the wood stove.
Lots of downed trees, adding to my stacks.
Power just came back on yesterday afternoon.
We got almost a foot, but it is so heavy ,it has compacted down to about 6".
Got to go enjoy it before it all melts

To the left of the pipe on my AS is the hottest spot on the top of my stove. I had to run it hard to get a boil, but it worked perfectly! I made a second pot once my wife woke up, but made that one on the burner on the side of the grill outside.

Thx CBVT, I haven't put my center cover back on since we got the storm and power was out last Sunday.
I was using the stove to melt snow for 'flushing purposes'. Figured no sense in running the genny if not necessary. It was daytime, no lights needed, had heat, and Jill didn't need the O2 at the time, so no sense in wasting gas.

I guess I should put it back on, for aesthetic purposes at least.

I just came home and found the power back on.

Have to return the POS percolator I bought. It leaks out the bottom of the spout. I'll need to buy a one for just in case soon.

Good you got your power back on. I saw some Hydro Quebec trucks in town today. We really appreciate the work all the line crews are doing. No complaints if it takes a few days to get everything back up as there was a lot of work to be done.

Weather guessers have another Nor'easter arriving Monday into Tuesday, possible similar conditions.

The crew in my neighborhood was from NJ. I saw another crew from Canada too.

Hopefully everything can get back to normal soon and Asplundh can get back to helping me with my hoardig again!

From the pics on the news there should be plenty of wood to be gotten.

There were some trees, but mostly wrist to forearm sized branches with 10,000 smaller twig branches on them. There has to be literally millions of branches down in my area. Once things are cleared up, I will be looking hard at the roadside opportunities.

Yeah, supposed to be another 10"

Annoying, because I found a great honey hole of ash and maple, and its totally buried now.

There was a news item about how power crews from New Brunswick were in the area helping out. Yay!

Yep - They have wooded lots. I clean/cup up the limbs/trees and get the wood. The brush gets dragged into the woods.

The wood dumps will be filling up I'm sure. Even if it's half of what I'm seeing around down here, it'll be lots of car/suv fulls.

I have a few small scores lined up here too. Already grabbed some pear and maple. I can get a honey locust and plum tree anytime.
