It started snowing here around noon. It didn't really start picking up until around 9:00. I went to bed at 11 and there was already a decent amount of snow on the ground. We lost power sometime overnight, and there's gotta be at least a foot of heavy heavy crap on the ground with the first inch or two slushy. Gonna be fun to shovel the front walk.

We've got power, I don't know why. Trees and shrubs are loaded with snow and bent way over, there will be a lot of tree damage from this. I was going to go to Malden to babysit (snow day) but I don't know if that will happen.

But it looks so pretty and I am glad we very seldom get that much. Our winter total so far this year, and it was only for a day, was an inch of snow.

Just talked to someone at Woodstock. Said 16" snow where she lives. Mike didn't make it to work with 20" at his place. It's a bit of a nasty March out east.

Backwoods Savage, as you know the factories kind of on the River Bottom. My family that lives up in the hills are saying they got two feet anyway. On top of the 18 or so inches they had at the beginning.

Yeah, I think Mike lives in VT somewhere near Woodstock. Several miles from the factory.

We got about 18 inches of snow, and they said on the news this morning it has been 90 inches for the year making it the 9th most snowy winter in Maine since recorded weather began. Funny as I did not consider it all that snowy, but I guess we just had a few big ones.

Either way it is PERFECT snow to plow. Kind of wet so it sticks together when you push it up so it does not trail off the sides of the bucket, but with frozen ground underneath, the bucket skids over the surface without cutting in, then with no ice and bare soil under the snow, I got plenty of traction. It was the shortest time I ever took to plow snow in my driveway considering the depth it was.

Looks like we may get power back by Sunday night or early Monday at this point.

I did take a trip to the local stove dealer to look at a Jotul F45. Very nice stove which would give me longer burn times. Loads north/south. This had 5 splits at the time.

Power is back up. Looks like repairs went better than expected.

I picked up some maple, pear and have an ok to get some locust next to my parents.
