Do you add weight in the back Jeremy?

No added weight, but its a double cab short bed so I think it has more weight over the rear axle than your typical long bed pickup to begin with.

I didn't go up anything real steep, just some small hills around here. If I took it slow I crawled up fine... gun it and the rear would spin and fishtail a little until traction control kicked in but it would still move.

I just wanted to get the feel for it... every car Ive ever owned so far was FWD or full time AWD.. This is my first experience with traditional 2WD/4WD and I want to get used to the feel before doing any long drives in the slick stuff.

You'll discover this soon enough... even with an extended cab, the rear wheels (with no extra weight in the rear) can "break loose" while driving on slippery roads sometimes, especially going up a slight grade (in 2 wheel dr). It's usually not a big deal but something to be aware of when stepping on or off the gas. It has the same effect when down shifting going down a hill on slippery roads... the rears can break loose then too. I keep four 5 gal buckets of sand/salt up against the tailgate end of the bed during the winter. Not a lot of weight, but I can feel the difference.

We ended up with the red part. Though they are now calling for a possible blizzard on Tuesday. My fingers are crossed. Tomorrow I'll load up the wood racks in the house just to be on the safe side. Might also run the generator for a bit.
