First, Welcome to FHC and the best place and people on earth! Second, It looks to me like that screen was (homemade). Many stoves didn't come with screens. I burn Fishers and they were an option for the Double door stoves. None of the smaller stoves had screens. They're are many way's to make one and some folks even put a small hearth screen around the front of the stove like the one I posted here. They are not very expensive, maybe $75.00 and will do the job if you want the doors open.
Welcome to the club, Dina lara ! Looks like homemade to me. Make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector if you leave the door open...it will go off...
that looks like a fireplace screen not just for a wood stove i remember my school friend had the same type on there fire place and that was in the early 60s a good tin smith shop could make it not that hard if you can't find one
So did anyone figure out what that mysterious tube coming out of the stove pipe adapter is? I just picked one of these up today? I'm thinking about cutting it out and welding it closed. Also, what size rope gasket does the door take? Looks pretty big. All I can find at box stores is 3/4.
Got her wire wheeled and painted. Just waiting on warmer temps to pull the coal stove out and swap this monster in. Oh still need to replace the door gasket. Forgot about that. Getting old sucks.
We haven't had any cold weather since I installed it so I've only had small fires. It really throws heat.
