It's sitting in the garage right now going on Craig's list as then new p43 will be installed where it used to be ,next purchase is a genny to back up if the power is down . I will say that in the 23 years we've lived here the power has never been off for more than 24 hrs  .but the genny is like a spare tire hope you never have to use it but sure glad you got one when you do :D

Geez, If it weren't for the coupon. I'd go to BT or CT. Still looking at BT for some La Crete's. And BT also has Blazers. But at $325/ton I just can't pull the trigger on them!

Yup, I can get MWP delivered to my doorfor $265 during the spring special. So $250 now where I have to haul them myself is not enough of a bargain. Considering my alternative i am ok with the prices, if I had oil I think i would load up on both and save the pellets as back up.

I get nervous waiting, but I've done it before and came out OK every time. I'm going to be a while before any space is opened up.

Just for a laugh I just checked my local HD website for pellet prices. Here is what I found:

    Fireside Softwood - $299
    Nations Choice - $299
Stove Chow - $5.49/bag ($274) (I've never seen Chow's at this store and would be surprised to see them.
    Premium Wood Pellets -$259

With prices like these I guess there won't be a shortage this year. A lot of people will be burning oil.

I'm ging to check the local TSC and perhaps pull the trigger on 1-2 tons of the pro pellets. I'm thinking they are $239-249 with the $25 coupon. Seems like there are lots of pellets there and I got a little room in the shelter logic so if the price is right I will begin the filling of the pellets 2015/2016. Also going to fill up the dino tank early while prices are low.

With big box at 249+ i am happy i pulled trigger on the boutique pellets. 289 for spruce pointe wasnt bad. Think i paid 304 a ton delivered for spruce pointe and blazers.

I'm seeing $269 @ HD, and $259 at Lowes around here :faint: (and Lowes has pellets in stock).

Using the PFI fuel cost calculator, pellets @ $259/ton is only $1.50 cheaper (at worst) per million btu's than oil @ $2.35/gal. My back would be thanking me a LOT not having to lugs bags of pellets for that little amount.

And that's using 78% as the efficiency for the oil burner.....many units have even better #'s than that. My old unit at the house I sold last year was at 83%.....that would put oil & pellets at a wash......no brainer which I would be using.
My pellet friends, you need to start re-thinking your heating options for the upcoming winter.:shiver:

No....people have to do what's best $-wise to keep themselves & their families warm. In addition, anyone that has a bad back (like me) should consider the advantages of oil/gas if the $$ gets anywhere close to what pellets are. Trips to the chiropractor would eat-up any savings pellets might eak-out.

I 'd hate to see what the electric bill would be :bug::bug::bug::bug::bug: and it's not even a nice heat , pellets at a bag a day $6.00 / bag x 30 = $ 180 / month . And electric heat doesn't have a cool web place like this to hang out and shoot the chit with friends :handshake:
